Welcome to the Lodekka section of the website. I have been keeping records of the whereabouts of Lodekka survivors for more than twenty years now, and it never ceases to amaze me how many new "finds" continue to come up from all corners of the world. Sometimes I think that if man ever steps foot on Mars the first thing he'll find is an ex-Bristol Omnibus Lodekka! The advent of the Internet has meant that it is even easier for people who have just bought a "1960s Bristol double decker" to find out exactly what they have bought, and I hope that this website will eventually provide all the information on the history of their bus that they could ever want. In the meantime you will find below a list of companies who bought Lodekkas from new and for each company there is a separate list of known survivors with details of when they were last reported. Please feel free to contact me to update any information, contribute a photo (recent or otherwise) or to add a new survivor to the list.
While several well-known sources are acknowledged as contributors to data in this website, this is a personal list which I have been compiling from very widely-spread contacts over a long period and it is those people who I particularly thank for their kindness. Specific acknowledgements should go to The PSV Circle for the wonderful work they do to record vehicle movements in the UK and around the world, Buses magazine for the excellent UK coverage in Fleet News over many decades, the British-Buses-Abroad-In-North-America and British-Buses-Abroad-In-Europe Yahoo Groups who have been running for many years and have provided much of interest about the current scene in that continent, and more recently the various Facebook pages dedicated to our hobby.
